I just LOVE a day when I stumble on an artisan who’s creations speak to me. Really, they do. They speak to me. They say, “LOOK AT ME! I’M MARVELOUS!”
Like Floyd Gompf’s folk art furniture pieces. I love them. I just absolutely love them! Totally my aesthetic… and just one of these in a room, in a house for that matter, would speak volumes about the personality living there. He lives halfway across the world in Michigan (USA) – which is a bit lucky for me because it prevents me from acting on my somewhat-of-a-stalker tendency to just stop by studios when I see them and ask to have a look around. Gompf has some great studio pics on Flickr, though, if you want to have a peek. But for now, I’ll have to satisfy my stalker tendency and share a little virtual tour of some of his creations.
And he throws in these whimsical folk art robots for good measure!
Floyd Gompf – if you are listening, LOVE your work. And your last name is pretty fun to say, too!
Left wanting to see more? He hangs out at www.floydgompf.com.
Until next time…
