Well, I’ve had my go at using paint chips recently for a baby shower decoration / gift for a friend. And I’ve since seen some amazing examples of creativity using paint chip cards.  I’m sharing my favorites below, and you too can find inspiration with over 80 projects and pieces of art on this paint chip Pinterest board.

Since the projects / works of art are so fabulous, I’ll let the photos speak for themselves.

Don’t forget – there are 80+ paint chip projects to inspire your next work of art at this Pinterest board.

Hi anonymous – I appreciate your thoughts. Most stores I've been to are happy to part with a few cards – and even have some extras in the back to give sometimes. Forming relationships with smaller DIY stores helps. My thought is that inspiration can be found everywhere – so these ideas are also intended to inspire to create with other materials like magazine pages.

Hi there – these projects are all from different sources. If you click on the words underneath the images, you will be lead to the original source. If there are tutorials included you'll find them. Good luck! Otherwise, if you have a specific how-to question I'd be happy to help you.

ummm, the paint chips are there for customers and yes, it does cost the store $$ . I wouldn't be proud of "stealing" them for your artwork. sorry, just the way I feel.

These are awesome…how do people manage to procure these pretty paint chips? Do they wear big coats and stuff them in the lining when the people aren't looking or do they actually go and ask? Do the stores care? Just wondering as I totally love the projects and could definitely see on in my future…

One of our local DIY stores started charging for paint chip cards. It must not have been received well, because they are now free again. Is it just a matter of time before something changes there with the paint companies?
